More Statues and Memorabilia at Astana’s Ag Institute

The old part of Astana is like any old city from the former Soviet Union.  The streets are narrower, the trees are taller than on the new part of the city and there are many pipes that are above ground.  That’s how you know you are in the older part of Astana, but also there are statues and monuments that show a bygone era. Take a look at these photos I took the other day when Ken and I went to the 50 year celebration of a professor’s teaching and researching career of Michael Spektor.  I also got a photo of a colorful painting in someone’s office of a Kazakh bride.
